Karva Chauth was celebrated in Kapilvastu

Karwa Chauth is celebrated by the women of Kapilvastu as well as the Madhesi community of Terai wishing for the long life of their husbands. On Friday, the women fasted without even drinking water. In the evening, they prayed to God for her husband's long life and happiness and prosperity.

Kartika Krishna Paksha Chaturthi is celebrated every year by the women of Terai with great pomp and ceremony. The women fasted from dawn until the moon rose on Friday night. At night, they perform special puja to the moon at home and in the village.

Before the moon, Chalno breaks the day's fast and eats only after looking at her husband's face. Suman Gupta of Krishnanagar Municipality-9, Bahadurganj said that Chalno celebrated the festival by looking at her husband's face after worshiping the moon around 8 o'clock on Friday night.

After worshiping the moon, there is a tradition that the husband breaks the woman's fast by feeding her water. On festival days, it is customary to eat new rice flour dishes and sweets at home. This festival is celebrated with more pomp in the border Indian markets of the Terai.
