Cultural festival Ropai Jatra has been organized in Palpa on Monday. It is customary to celebrate Ropai Jatra festival with great pomp.

Jatra has been organized in district headquarters Tansen, Nayranmatles, Rampur, Humin, Tahun, Jagbadi, Siluva. Buddhiprasad Sharma, a local, said that two groups were seen planting jatra in Tansen market. Tansen's Kazipauwa Tol Vikas Sastha, Kusumdanda and Tansen-based Devvani Sanskrit and General Mavi also took out Ropai Jatra this year with great fanfare. Principal Krishna Bahadur Thapa said that the school organized a Jatra to teach culture to the students. 

The local leader has said that the planting which has been done traditionally has been carried out this time as well. Locals were worried that they would lose a few years without the support of the local government. 

In Ropai Jatra, which is the original festival of the West Hills, the activities of planting paddy are performed to reflect the culture and art of different castes. Intellectual Sharma said that there is a problem because it costs a lot to extract it.

Ropai Jatra is a festival celebrated in the month of June after the planting of paddy. This Janaipurnima Parsipal is taken out in the afternoon and at night. In this festival, dancing and singing are done as if planting paddy. To celebrate Ropai Jatra, the farmers gather and have fun singing and dancing Asare songs along with instruments. Shrestha said, "The first jatra was started to give entertainment to the body tired from work. Now its importance is not the same as before." In the

jatra, first the oxen, plough, yoke, plow, and then the planters pretending to plant rice in the mud. There is a tradition of acting in the lake of Panchebaja. There was a crowd in various chokchoks to watch the procession. This festival, which was started by the Newar caste since the reign of Rana, has now developed as a festival for all citizens.
