Yashoda Devkota was young. When there were fairs and festivals in the village, artists used to come in large numbers. Everyone praised the artists and their songs. The villagers who became spectators looked very happy. But that was something that seemed strange to her. She would not let her daughters go out, would not sing songs, but would praise artists who came from other places to sing.

'That's probably why,' she says, 'Even though everyone came to the field of art with a vengeance, I came out of anger.'

Born in a low-income family in Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality-3, Kalikot, Yashoda's childhood was spent in a normal manner. Growing up in financial hardship, Yashoda had a desire to become an artist. She used to tell her friends about her dream. Seeing her dream, her maternal uncle had helped her sing a song once. After that, she came to Kathmandu. She recorded a song with the help of artist Khagendra Neupane. Yashoda, who came with a thousand dreams, did not do as well as she had hoped. She did not want to go back to her village. After the song

did not do well, she went to Surkhet. Yashoda, who sang a couplet very well, then started singing in a couplet evening. She spent many difficult days in the couplet evening for three months. She lived in a rented room and did not buy gas or a stove because she did not have money. Yashoda, who used to eat in the couplet evening in the evening, spent many days hungry in her room in the morning. She becomes emotional remembering the past, ‘I feel very sad when I remember that moment. Even if I had told her at home, I would have sent money,’ she said. ‘I did not say that I could not bear it if I knew that my daughter was suffering.’ At that time, I was on an empty stomach for many days.'

After some time, she went home. Seeing that she was thin, she was not allowed to leave the house. After a few months, after much pressure, her mother gave her 10,000 in her hand and allowed her to fulfill her dream. Then she came to Kathmandu again. 'Live Deuda used to be held near us.' There was a Deuda atmosphere in Kathmandu. That's why I started playing Deuda,' she said. Initially, she earned 15,000 by playing Deuda. She says that that time was the happiest moment. 'Now I am earning, don't worry, so I gave my first earnings to my mother.' Mother was crying a lot,' Yashoda's eyes became watery.

She worked harder and struggled. The audience and listeners started liking her songs. After that, she made her own place in Live Deuda.

She has also sung Dohori many times in the program 'Indreni'. The Dohori she has sung with singers like Raju Pariyar, Chhatra Shahi, Prakash Parajuli, Milan Lama are very famous. Now she has good support from her family. The villagers who used to call her Nanathari praise her.

22-year-old Yashoda, who sings Deuda wearing a garland, a garland, a dhoti, and a cholo, has sung more than 1,000 live Deudas. 'I feel very happy when my village songs resonate in the country and abroad, and everyone likes them,' she said, 'I will try my best to protect Deuda.'
