Dev Bahadur Vick of Gorkha Municipality-3 Nareshwar, after receiving the notification that the result of SEE will be published on Friday, many thoughts came to his mind. Dev Bahadur wanted to know the results of his eldest son Amos Sunar along with him. When the results were announced in the evening, 36-year-old Dev Bahadur was gossiping with his friends from the village.
Son Amos called to tell me with great joy that he had received a 3.64 GPA. He asked his son, who had called to tell him his result, to see his result as well. The son said that his father had a GPA of 2.95. After hearing the news that both he and his son had passed, Dev Bahadur returned home happily. Dev Bahadur and Amos, who passed SEE in the same year, are not only sons, but also classmates.
Dev Bahadur, a resident of Gorkha Municipality-3, was enrolled in Class 8 of Vindhya High School three years ago. His eldest son Amos studied in 8th grade in Saraswati Mavi Ahale of Gorkha Municipality-8. After his son passed the eighth grade, Dev Bahadur brought his son to the Vindhyavasini school in the village and enrolled him.
'We used to go to school together from 9th grade,' he said, 'We were classmates, no matter what happened at home, we were like friends at school.' Father and son used to learn from each other. "Language was not that difficult for me, he was talented in math and science, we used to teach each other what he didn't know," he said.
Dev Bahadur was not required to wear school uniform. He did not miss classes as much as possible and used to go to school wearing matching school clothes. 18 years ago, Dev Bahadur, who dropped out while studying in class seven, joined class eight three years ago. He returned from staying in Qatar for 5 years.
'Even after coming from abroad, I stayed at home for many years, when I go to an interview for a job, I would be ashamed to say under SLC,' he said, even when I was young, I couldn't study because of my own compulsion. "I can't explain the hard work I did in class eight, I barely slept after spending five hours on a calculation," he said. He said, "Even though I stayed up till 11/12 in the evening in the preparation of SEE, I used to wake up at 3 in the morning to study, my son was also inspired when he saw me studying." He plans to teach science to his 15-year-old son Amos. "The result has just come, let's not say anything now about not allowing me to continue my studies," he added, "I am happy now because of the success I got in SEE according to my hard work."
The younger of the two sons is studying in class 6. Dev Bahadur says that the importance of education can be achieved in any place by hard work. Dev Bahadur also reminds the school age children who come to the neighborhood to work on road works not to drop their studies.
