If a scooter or motorcycle gets lost or stolen in busy urban areas, it is a matter of misery for its drivers. What to do if the helmet of the parked vehicle is not returned? It is not even practice to carry a spare helmet.

In this case, new helmets may not be available everywhere. Yes, Sajal Joshi from Kathmandu has started delivering helmets online for a solution after experiencing the same problem himself.

For the first time in 2016, Helmets Nepal started delivery from the online marketplace and is now providing physical services from Maitighar and Naxal. Helmets Nepal not only sells helmets but also all the necessary riding gears for riders. Joshi, co-founder and CEO of Helmets Nepal, said that it has expanded to Kathmandu as a retail store through an online store. "At first, I lost my helmet in the parking lot, I went home and brought another helmet and was able to ride the bike, I couldn't even buy the helmet at the place where it was lost," he added, "Then we started the online delivery service to take care of similar emergencies. Helmets Nepal was born from there.'

Generally, two-wheeler riders wear helmets only to avoid the traffic police, he says. Joshi said that even when he was wearing a helmet, he had to die in an accident. "It was found that people wear helmets only to avoid traffic, it was not necessary to wear quality helmets for their own safety," he said, "Then we started lobbying that quality helmets should also be worn to avoid road accidents." Now, along with quality helmets, riding safety gears are also being sold, he said.

'Now Helmets Nepal has grown not only as a helmet delivery platform but also towards road safety advocacy,' Joshi said, 'We have also become a dynamic platform for road safety advocacy.' He said that now he is doing an annual business of 4 crore rupees. "We started by spending 50,000 to solve the problem we faced during the first year of graduation, now we are doing 40 million transactions annually," he said.

Helmets Nepal had also been doing sales and distribution in physical form by keeping 'outlets' in Maitighar, Teku, Anamnagar and Nagpokhari. Which is now only in Maitighar and Naxal said the General Manager of Helmets Nepal Raees Maharjan. "Now we have a store only in Maitighar, Naxal," he said. Maharjan told that a single store was created in Naxal by merging the stores of Teku, Anamnagar and Nagpokhari.

'Not only helmets but all riding gears are available in Naxal's store, we have also set up a service station for the first time,' he said, 'from general checkup to general service of bikes and scooters, these bike accessories are bought and fitted.' Maharjan said that along with brand helmets, various riding gears have also been introduced in the market in collaboration with various brands of Nepal. "By tie-up with Kavach, we have also brought jackets, pants, and jerseys for the ride," he said, "Kavach manufactures and sells them according to our required designs." Maharjan said that he started doing it. "Recently, in collaboration with Docha, we have brought shoes called 'Yatri' brand, which can be worn on the same day and are comfortable," he said.
