Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha has said that the relevant laws are being amended to develop, expand and promote domestic films.

He said this at the meeting of the Legislative Management Committee under the Federal Parliament National Assembly held at Singha Durbar on Monday. Minister Sinha said that the discussions held by the lawmakers for amending the prevailing laws related to films reflected the wishes of the entire country. He also mentioned that the government wants to make the necessary policy and legal arrangements for the production of films as per the wishes of the country.

Stating that the government is trying to develop the film sector as a social, cultural and entertainment industry, Minister Sinha said, "An effort has been made to amend and integrate the prevailing laws related to films and present them in a new form."

He also said that the Film Bill, which is under preparation, covers various dimensions desired by the society and the country.
