Film director Rishi Lamichhane made a 'comeback' on the big screen after 8 years. He feels that Come Back this time is different and interesting from other films. Why? The sage who always tells stories of tears does not want to make people cry anymore. Tears are hiding in everyone's eyes.
"This time it is not tears, but I want to add laughter to the eyes of people who are hiding tears," Rishi enters into the story he has chosen to bring to the world of humor.
Yopali Rishi's film 'Magne Raja Cha' is on the shoulders of actor Kedar Ghimire known as 'Magne Budha'. Will it really be the king who asks? The curiosity of some viewers is stuck waiting for this mysterious story. If you ask for the land, then the king is the sky. The story of the film is the ambition of the people of the land to reach the sky,' says Rishi, making it easy for the audience to guess.
Two years ago, while scrolling through Facebook, Rishi saw a photo. The wave brought to his mind by that photo had determined the path of the 'Magne Raja'. There is a child in the picture. He is seen covered in mud and naked. But he has a smile on his face,' Rishi adds, 'I was so struck by this photo that I had to tell a story.' Besides Kedar's request, other characters are secondary. According to Rishi, only Kedar fit this story. As a poet seeks happiness in words and a director seeks happiness in the lens of a camera — what does the earthling seek happiness in? Rishi wants to share this happy story.
But before the release of the film, Rishi seemed to stumble. Producer Munal Ghimire claimed that Kedar was paid Rs 61 lakh. That claim became new material for the curious. Some started abusing Kedar, some the producer and director. How much did Kedar get in particular? The search turned to the reward rather than the story of the film. Rishi thinks, 'What is the meaning of this search for well-wishers?' Rishi, who has never faced controversy despite making more than a dozen films and teleserials, is now surprised. He was ready for the criticism and applause that would come for the release of the
movie. But the insults that came before the release have been hard to digest. "It burns with insults that you don't have to be a part of." I couldn't sleep for many nights,' he was saying with a soft laugh. Rishi thought, "Why is the society enjoying negative things now?" Isn't the culture going wrong?' He is shocked to see that people do not think about what happens to the abuser in a society that is happy when one insults the other.
Rishi is promoting the film which is going to be released on August 6.
coming after a gap of almost 1 decade, he is feeling something new. I was not lost. I kept telling stories through teleserials on the small screen. When I returned to the big screen again, I felt the change in technology,” he says. But with the development in technology, he feels that the Capricorns are giving priority to the stories of the brain. However, he found it exciting to shoot this come-back trip.
Now Rishi is 52 years old. But on the set, the 25-year-old Tanneri felt that his passion had returned. Love every frame and every angle. I enjoyed it immensely,” says Rishi.
Rishi was born in Salyan. He came to Kathmandu with his brother in his childhood. His hunger for acting was awakened in him from his childhood days in Kathmandu. Mani Thapa cast him in a play for a small role around 041. At that time, his dialogue was to say 'Pani Pani'. But the act of dying without drinking water. After that performance, he felt the desire to be a 'hero'.
On top of that, Mithun Chakraborty is his favourite. And while watching Govinda's dance, he used to dream — 'I could dance like that too.' Instead, the dream changed after a while — 'I'm not a hero anymore, I'm going to be a director.' I don't know where he is now in the one and a half dozen teleserials and music videos he acted in. He worked with many makers on his journey to becoming a
director. Learned from screenplay to camera frames and angles with Laxminath Sharma. Learned about the beauty of film with Tulsi Ghimire. He also worked with such directors, who were also known as Action and Cut. Rishi did his last work as chief assistant director on 'Darpanchayaan'. In the days that followed, he carried the films on his shoulders.
should be around the year 056/057. The sage had just gone to Manakamana and arrived at the Dera. Director Narayan Puri got a call. He asked at the beginning, 'Rishi, what did you ask for when you went to Manakamana?' Rishi said, 'Give happiness for yourself and your family.' Puri added, 'Did you not ask for a film?' Producers Pradeep Uday and Puri were waiting for him. It was from that meeting that Rishi's first directorial film was finalized. The movie was 'Kahi Milan Kahi Vichod'.
Although the film was a commercial failure, it taught Rishi a lot. Then Rishi made the teleserial 'Prichaya'. 'Introduction' established his identity. He went on to strengthen his directorial identity with dozens of films like 'Habaldar Suntali', 'Omrem Manouk Own Hoe', 'Hamro Maya Juni Junilei'.
Rishi not only did films but also enjoyed teleserials. "I look for a small screen to tell small things in detail," he explains. One should have the ability to say many things in a nutshell on the big screen. Rishi enjoys the process equally.
Right now, Rishi has a few films in the pipeline. One of them is writer Vijay Malla's novel 'Anuradha'. They are making a film on it. Then the sequel of 'Magne Raja' 'Magne Maharaj'. "Even if the king who asks for it doesn't do business, will you make it?" Without letting the question fall to the ground, he said assertively, "Keep it written, the business will be good." The
film will do business, what kind of reviews it will get - the result will be seen after August 6. But the result will not stop Rishi from making a new film. Many friends, relatives and own people left the country and fled. I'm sitting here thinking about nothing but movies. But where am I in the crowd of films?' Rishi, who is looking for his immortal existence, looks at himself and says - 'That's why I live here. I have yet to make a movie where I meet myself.'
