Swastima matured in character

Whether it is the role of 'Bulbul' who waits for the love of her husband who is working abroad or Pushpama who is close to the driver while traveling with the body of her husband who died while traveling abroad, Swastima has started to understand the psychology of such characters.

As Meena is approaching 30, the pressure of marriage is increasing. Neighbors want to see her home. The family is also desperate to get their daughter married. What kind of decision will Meena take under such pressure? Meena will be followed by the film 'Behuli from Meghauli' which is going to be released from October 17. Actress Swastima Khadka plays the role of the said character.

Swastima is now 29 years old. However, Swastima did not have to bear the pressure of marriage like Meena. She chose director Nischal Basnet as her husband at the age of 20. However, she felt the same problem as Meena from her friends. She says, "When I showed the film to some of my close friends, they said that it was made for me." Yesterday, there was pressure to get married when they were 20, now there is a wrong comment that women who are about to touch 30 are 'not for sale'. Swastima feels that characters like Meena are facing unnecessary pressure from society and family for marriage. "When Meena is doing the character, there is more pressure from her relatives and neighbors than her desire to get married. That pressure also creates pressure in the family,' says Swastima.

Swastima has not faced such pressure in real life, she has been taking decisions for herself. When the decision to marry Nischal was announced for the first time, the family was shocked. Because before that there was no talk of marriage even in Swastima's house, nor did anyone come with a marriage proposal. Swastima tells Meena that she is very different from her character in 'Bulbul' and 'Chiso Abooboo'.

She says she captured the inner side of the character to fall in love with Meena. However, Swastima said that even now, more attention is paid to the outer shell rather than touching the character's soul in character development. Swastima is also the producer of this film. While signing the actors for the film, this time Swastima stayed behind the scenes and observed these works. When giving a role to an actor, they were initially worried about the looks of the character.

If it looks good on the screen, it does not work in the character. It is understood that if the character of the ground person survives, there is danger in the character. In particular, we think we should remove this comment," she said. "If an actress has become a stickler on screen, that is also a character. How much the artist worked on the internal part of that character is more important than how that character looked.'  Swastima believes that while the male actors are working hard to create

characters, women still have to compromise to become 'heroines'. "After becoming a heroine, the body should always look the same, be it laughing or crying, it should look beautiful," said Swastima. In the second film 'Love Love Love', Swastima's character had to cry in the hospital. In that scene, Swastima enters with a mask. However, remembering that the director Dipendra Kumar Khanal asked her to take off her mask in that scene, she said, "You are a heroine, you have to take off your mask."

But when she got to "cold man", she also told that she felt that the director had changed a lot towards the "heroine". Dipendra has left Swastima free in creating the character of a 'cold person'. At that time, the director Dipendra never insisted on her that 'heroines should look good'. Beauty has its own definition. I think the character I did in 'Chill Man' is very beautiful. But, while doing that character, the director never told me that you are a heroine and you have to show your face," she said. Swastima also worked very hard for the character of Pushpa, a 'cold person'.

Swastima has not studied acting. While studying engineering, she turned to acting. Every project became a learning experience for him. Especially life is learning. I didn't study acting, but I learned by doing. My circle consisted of people who had studied acting,' says Swastima, 'In the first film (Hostel Returns) many actors including Nazir came from theatre. Seeing their way of working, I knew that acting would not be what I expected. I came to understand that acting is more than this.'

Swastima wanted to do this kind of film even before she did 'Bulbul'. "I was especially waiting for such a film," said Swastima. She got the script of 'Bulbul' from Nischal. But Nischal himself said, 'Can't you do such a character?' Swasthima decided to prove herself even more by that. "I always thought that Swastima could not do it," she said.

With different films, Swastima has not only learned acting, she has also experienced the development of her own personality through her characters. Rankala of 'Bulbul' has been waiting for her husband who is employed abroad, for years. Rankala needs love. Chopendra gets closer to Patra. In one scene, Rankala is shown getting physical with the character. After making Rankala, she understood the requirements and conditions of Rankala. When I saw the character in the theater after the release of the film, I thought why should I look at this character with a narrow mind? After Rankala survived, I felt the character was more accurate,” she said.

The same thing happened to her when she played Pushpa's character of 'cold man'. Many had started questioning Pushpa's character. The body of the husband is in the car, the father-in-law is next to him and Pushpa is attracted to the driver next to him? I will not judge a character like Pushpa anymore. If I didn't have that character, I would have judged those kinds of characters too. Such a character with a different point of view makes you think about yourself in a different dimension,' Swastima sounded mature.
