The one-day Extratech Legend Cup competition has started on Monday morning at Tilottama in Rupandehi. In the morning, Tilottama-17, the competition started at the ground in Darkhaswa. The tournament was organized on Monday on the occasion of the inauguration of the extratech oval ground located in East Darkhasawa.

Four teams namely Legends 96, Rest of Nepal, World Cup 2014 and Rupandehi Legends are competing in this one day tournament which is being conducted in T-10 format. People's representatives representing the local level, state and association participating in the program held on the occasion of the opening of the competition praised the fact that the competition was organized by building an international level cricket stadium with the investment of people in Australia on foreign employment. State chief Amik Sherchan is the chief guest in the inauguration program.

Vishnu Paudel, Chavi Lal Vishwakarma, Basudev Ghimire representing the association from Rupandehi, as well as Chandra Bhandari and Gokarn Bishta, members of the House of Representatives from Gulmi, said that the construction of the stadium with private investment will encourage the youth who want to do something in the country while working abroad.

ExtraTech Legends Cup begins at Tilottama The first match is between 1996 and 2014 between the teams representing the country in international matches. The 1996 team is led by LB Chhetri and the 2014 team is led by former national captain Paras Khadka. 

being under the main sponsorship of Tilottama Municipality  The competition has Nivea Jersey as partner and Yeti Airlines as airline partner . With the investment of Vinod Kunwar from Gulmi in Australia, the foundation stone of this ground was laid on 29th of May, along with the construction of the pitch, the organizer Extratech Pvt. Kunwar, the investor, said that the goal is to have a parapit with a capacity of 5,000 spectators and complete its construction within the next 3 years. The stadium will have a parapit with a capacity of 25,000 spectators.

Extratech Oval Pvt. Ltd. Director Kunwar stated that when the stadium construction was announced, there was doubt that it would be completed and the doubt was resolved by completing the construction on time. 

Nepal entered international cricket in 1996 through the first ACC trophy in Malaysia. 12 out of 14 players from this team will play in Extratech Legends Cup at Tilotta from Legends 96 . Nepal's first international official captain Uttam Kumar Karmacharya will not be in the Legends 96 team as he is abroad, while wicketkeeper Ganesh Shahi has passed away.

Nepal played the Twenty20 World Cup for the first time in 2014 in Bangladesh. 6 players of this team will play in Extratech Legend Cup in Tilotta from World Cup 2014. Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Bheshavkar, Shakti Gauchan, Jitendra Mukhia and Avinash Karn are part of the World Cup 2014 team captained by Paras Khadka. 8 players of the Nepali team who played in the World Cup in 2014 are now abroad. Sompal Kami and Vinod Bhandari are in Hong Kong with the Nepali national team.

The rest of Nepal, which is a combination between Nepal's first international team and a team that has not played in the World Cup, will be captained by Vinod Das. Under the captaincy of Hari Thapa, the Rupandehi Legends have international players from Nepal including Sanjeev Joshi, Durga Sen, last Thapa, Lal Bahadur Adhikari.

Four players of Nepal's first women's cricket team, who played the ACC Cup tournament in Malaysia in 2007, are participating in the Legend Cup. Neetu Thapa Rupandehi Legends, Mamta Thapa World Cup 2014, Neera Rajopadhyay Legends 96 and Sita Ranamgar are participating from Rest of Nepal . Similarly, singer Pramod Kharel is competing for Rest of Nepal, Badri Pangeni is competing for World Cup 2014 and corporate representative Rajen Maharjan is competing for Legends 96.
