The Industrial Area Management Limited has started disconnecting water and electricity lines from industries operating in various industrial areas that have not paid the outstanding rent and service charges. The water and electricity lines of more than 30 industries have been disconnected by 11 am on Thursday.

Limited had issued a notice on 25 Jestha to the industries operating in the concerned industrial areas to pay the outstanding amount within seven days. 'On Thursday morning alone, we have disconnected the lines of more than 30 industries, we have disconnected the electricity lines of those who have not paid the rent increase arrears,' said Padam Oli, General Manager of the Limited. 'We have disconnected both water and electricity for those who have not paid the water bill.'

The Limited has stated that the electricity of 63 industries in various industrial areas was disconnected on Wednesday, and 8 have been connected after paying the arrears. 'Water and electricity lines are being disconnected and reconnected,' he said, 'You can pay the bills both physically and online. That's why those who pay are being connected and those who don't pay are being disconnected simultaneously.'

The company says that it has started collecting the arrears of rent increase since 2075 BS as the High Court has ordered it to collect rent. Industrialists have been saying that they have not paid and will not pay the increased rent from 2075 BS to 2079 BS.
