The Department of Foreign Employment has clarified that the fee for the orientation training conducted for workers going for foreign employment has not been increased. The department issued a notice on Tuesday, stating that the training should be conducted at the current fee of Rs. 700. According to the department, the maximum fee per trainee is set at Rs. 700 as per the Orientation Training Procedure, 2076. Although rumors have spread that the fee has been increased in some places, the department says that there is no truth to it. The notice states that the fee for the training, which will be conducted for 2 days, cannot be charged more than the prescribed fee. The department has stated that all training providers must provide services at the prescribed fee as per the Foreign Employment Act, Rules and Procedures. The department has warned that action will be taken if any organization is found charging more than the prescribed fee and that the license of such organization may be revoked. The department has also urged workers to file complaints with the concerned body in case of irregularities related to fees.
