Mukesh Dangol, the newly appointed Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, assumed office on Monday.

 

Deputy Director General Devchandra Lal Karna welcomed the newly appointed Director General Dangol and Tourism Secretary Mukunda Prasad Niraula, who was recently transferred to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, at the NEA's office in Sinamangal.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a case against the then Director General Pradeep Adhikari for causing damage to public property at the heliport built in Nalinchok, Bhaktapur and for corruption in the Pokhara Regional International Airport construction project. He was automatically suspended after he was suspended. Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who is also holding the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, had on Friday appointed Mukush Dangol (ATC), Chief of the Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Tourism, as the Director General to oversee the work of the NEA as well.

Meanwhile, Pratap Babu Tiwari, the chief deputy director general of the NEA's Corporate Directorate, is also without a chief after he was also involved in the Pokhara Airport case. Seven NEA employees and a board member have been suspended on charges of increasing the cost of Nalinchowk Heliport and Pokhara Airport.
