Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the expenditure percentage of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and its subordinate bodies is not satisfactory.

She gave this information at the first quarterly review of the programs of the fiscal year 2082/83 and the ministerial-level development-problem-solving meeting. Prime Minister Karki also said in the meeting that the heads of the said bodies should take forward the work to be done with priority and urgency.

The Prime Minister said that the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers should facilitate, coordinate and monitor the work being done by regulatory, investigative and other related bodies to remove Nepal from the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an international organization that monitors money laundering.

Nepal has been placed on the negative list of the FATF due to the failure to make the expected improvements in the implementation of laws related to the prevention of money laundering, investigation and prosecution of financial crimes. Prime Minister Karki has also directed the office to update details of the damage caused to the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers' office building due to vandalism and arson during the Gen-G movement and to prepare a report with an integrated description of all the damage caused to the bodies under it.
