Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has said that the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, was a 'god' when he brought electricity from India eight years ago. He said that 425 megawatts of electricity was required to end load shedding at that time and Ghising had fulfilled that.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Khadka said that Ghising became a god when he brought 425 MW from India.
"Eight years ago, Nepal needed 425 megawatts to prevent loadshedding, four and a half hundred megawatts were brought from India," he said. Khadka also said that a transmission line has already been built to bring electricity from India.
'The transmission line should have been built a little earlier to bring it from India, why was that transmission line built ? And he became a god,' he added. He also said that Ghising should be thanked or rewarded if he did something good.
