Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has said that he sees a high political need to facilitate investment in Nepal. Addressing the third international investment conference, Shrestha said, "We have seen high political assurances from the government and opposition party leaders to facilitate investment in Nepal."
Shrestha mentioned that most of the political aspirations of Nepal have been fulfilled in recent years and said that Nepalis are moving towards the path of high economic growth to realize their aspirations for long-term development and prosperity. He said, "Thus, economic development and prosperity is the main historical task of the country, to which the government is fully committed." He also said that the government has opened the way for bilateral investment agreements with interested countries by approving the model framework 'Bilateral Investment Agreement' just two weeks ago. He also recalled that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal also called on friendly countries to conclude a bilateral investment agreement in the opening session on Sunday.
Shrestha reiterated the commitment of the Nepalese government to facilitate the possibilities and possibilities of every investment. "We are confident that our good friends and partners represented here will support our efforts to increase investment in Nepal, broaden and deepen our cooperation for our mutual benefit," he said.
