The third international investment conference has started with the aim of bringing domestic and foreign investment into the country. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal inaugurated the conference during a program held in Kathmandu.

At the conference, 150 projects from the local, provincial, union and private sectors are prepared to be presented. According to the Nepal Investment Board, more than 1,600 investors from 55 countries including Nepal will participate in the two-day conference. The board said that the arrival of domestic and foreign investors has started in the country since a few days ago.

More than 6 sessions will be conducted in the two-day conference. Pradyumna Prasad Upadhyay, spokesperson of the Board, said that there are projects in various sectors including energy, transportation, mining and minerals, tourism, production, industrial infrastructure and trade, health and education. There are 119 projects of union, state and local level and 31 projects of private sector.

More than 2,400 people have been invited, but more than 1,600 participants have been confirmed, according to Investment Board spokesperson Upadhyay. Maximum participation of 385 domestic investors has been confirmed.

265 from China, 143 from India, 33 from the United States, 28 from Japan, 14 from the UK, 13 from Bangladesh, 13 from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and 10 from Germany are participating. According to the Board of Investment, nine people each from South Korea, Australia and Malaysia are going to participate in the conference.
