The chariot of politics can turn anytime anywhere. The ongoing war between Israel and Iran in the Middle East is one such example. These countries, which once had close relations, are now at war. Israel and Iran do not have a common border, but there is missile and drone conflict in each other's skies.

Israel and its fighter jets with missiles reached inside Iran through the skies of other countries and fired missiles  is . Iran has attacked Israel with missiles and drones through the skies of neighboring countries.  

At one time, Iran was the second Muslim-majority country to recognize Israel as a nation. He had good relations with the Americans and the British. Iran has not recognized Israel as a nation since the declaration of the Islamic State after the Iranian revolution. Israel also sees Iran as a destabilizing force in the Middle East. The ongoing Israel-Iran war looks like a rehearsal for World War III . 

In addition to nuclear weapons, many technologies and weapons used in war have been used. As in the First and Second World Wars, soldiers did not fight on the borders of each other's countries waving their hands and firing guns. This war can be seen with ballistic and cruise missiles, drones and rocket launchers, high-speed new generation fighter aircraft and missiles, equipped defense systems and missiles used in three . This war focuses on knee-jerk tactics by destroying more targeted structures.

The border between Israel and Iran is between 1,200 and 1,500 kilometers. The distance between Jerusalem and Tehran is 1850 kilometers. However, the missiles they launch now pass through Jordanian and Iraqi skies. Sometimes the skies of Syria are also being used .

In this war, Israel is using US-made F-series fighter jets and missiles that can kill them. Similarly, Iran has launched a drone attack with ballistic and cruise missiles. Both countries have also built defense systems to avoid those missile attacks. Where the missile connected to the defense system in the sky is destroyed before the missile hits the ground. Due to Israel's 'Iron Dome defense system', a small amount of Iranian missiles fell on the Israeli side. 

Ballistic missiles arrive within 12 minutes, cruise missiles in two hours, drones in hours. In terms of geography and number of soldiers, Iran seems bigger than Israel . Equipped with technology, Israel has dominated the Iranian skies . Iran has suffered a lot in this war. Most of the damage to structures and civilians has been done to Iran. 

The start of the latest war is linked to Iran's nuclear program. Both of them went to war after Israel attacked some of Iran's nuclear reactors and nuclear scientists, claiming that Iran's nuclear program posed a threat. 

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been saying that his country will be safe only by destroying Iran's uranium processing centers. In a recent report published by the International Atomic Energy Agency, it appears that Israel has started attacking after it was announced that Iran violated the nuclear agreement and increased the amount of processed uranium to 66 percent. 

In recent days, Israel has been saying that the war will stop only by destroying the uranium processing center in Iran's Fordo. This Uranium Processing Center is an underground nuclear facility built within a mountainous area. It is built at a depth of about 91 meters from the ground. The center is protected by Iranian and Russian defense systems.

It was announced that uranium processing at Fordow Center reached 66 percent. Israel has also attacked Iran's nuclear facilities in Natanz and Isfahan. There is no detailed information about what kind of damage has been done. However, it is said that no radioactive fallout has been detected .

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) published a report that Iran's Fordo nuclear plant had extracted up to 60 percent of processed uranium. Uranium naturally contains isotopes of U-238 and U-235. In which the amount of U-238 is 99.27 percent and the amount of U-235 is only 0.27 percent. U-238 has 92 protons and 146 neutrons . U-235 has 92 protons and 143 neutrons . 

The remaining 0.01 percent consists of other isotopes . Uranium processing plants increase the amount of U-235 by changing the amount of isotopes in the uranium. Processing yields more than 90 percent of the U-235 that is suitable for making nuclear weapons.

In the presence of the then President of France and the Prime Minister of Great Britain, at the G-20 conference in 2009, the then President of the United States, Barack Obama, informed the world community about Iran's Fordow nuclear facility. In 2018, Israel claimed that the amount of high-grade enriched uranium at Fordow was increasing and that Iran planned to produce 2 nuclear weapons a year. It is estimated that there are 2700 centrifuges in the center. Processed uranium is extracted from naturally occurring uranium by centrifuge reaction.

In 2015, the sanctions imposed on Iran were also lifted by making an 'Iran deal' with the powers in Switzerland to stop Iran's nuclear program. But Israel is getting angry after Irani did not stop its nuclear program.

At present, only the United States has weapons that can reach underground and destroy bunkers. That is the GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bomb . This bomb is being discussed in the current war. This bomb is capable of detonating in tunnels up to 60/61 meters from the ground. Its length is 6 meters and its weight is 13,600 kg. Its specialty is to be able to enter bunkers and tunnels and kill within 200 feet. If we forget nuclear weapons, this bomb can be considered as the most powerful bomb in the world. 

Before making MOP, America made another similar bomb . Also known as the mother of all bombs, the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB). This bomb can damage the surface of the ground. America has used it in various places. The first successful test of the MOAB bomb was conducted by the US during the Iraq War in 2003. This bomb was used in 2017 to destroy a tunnel used by Islamic State fighters in Achin district of Afghanistan.

MOAB is a 9,800 kg bomb with a height of 30 feet. This bomb can also be dropped from MC-130 aircraft. It is estimated to cost around $16 million to build one. The GBU-57A/B can only be carried and dropped by US B-2 Spirit bombers. GPS Guided This bomb carrying aircraft is manufactured by Northrop Grumman Corporation . This company manufactures vehicles and equipment related to space and defense systems . 

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, which is considered the most powerful in the world, is also made by this company. According to US Air Force One, the B-2 Spirit bomber cost $1.157 billion to build. According to the official website of the Air Force, the company has 21 such aircraft with the US. This aircraft can carry up to 2 GBU-57 A/B series bombs at a time.

The latest use of B-2 bombers was last year targeting Houthi rebels in Yemen. This aircraft, which was prepared and built at a very expensive price, is used by the US only for special missions. This bomber is used to carry other bombs. This bomber aircraft is known as a 'stealth bomber' due to its special ability and difficulty in detecting it easily.

The weight of the MOP series GBU-57A/B bomb, which can destroy the Ford nuclear reactor, is 13,600 kg. Where the explosive material is only 2 thousand 700 kg. It is a bomb 20 feet long and 80 centimeters wide, which can only be used by B-2 Spirit bombers, according to the MOP program report released by the US Department of Defense.

The first test of this bomb, manufactured by the American company Boeing, took place in 2012. It is also said that it is not so easy to demolish this center which is completely safe underground. British think tank Royal United Service Institute has said that MOP bombs will not reach the Ford center in the first attack, so it will only happen with repeated attacks .

If the US is fully involved in this war, Iran has threatened to attack US military areas. Iran, rich in natural gas and oil, has a majority of Shia Muslims. Iran's economy is believed to have started to accelerate after the start of oil and gas storage and extraction in the Middle East. 20 percent of the world's produced oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran. which is near the Persian and Gulf of Oman .
