On the last day of Swasthani Vrat Katha in Dolakha Bazar, the Madhavanarayan 'Sahasradhara' Jalayatra Jatra of the Malla period is celebrated with great fanfare. It is customary to celebrate the Jatra, which is celebrated by circumambulating tolls with flags, idols and Kalash, on the day of the conclusion of the Swasthani Bratakatha.
It is a tradition for those who take Swasthani vows and fast to end a month-long Swasthani Vrat Katha by offering water in an urn carried by a young girl. Local Biraj Shrestha said that according to religious beliefs, the Jatra starts after the girls carry water from Devikot i.e. Tripurasundari in Dolakha and Varanasi with flutes and bhajankirtan, where the left knee of Satya Devi fell. "Every year, it is customary to take out this jatra on the day of Swasthani Sange," he said, "All day long, the devotees gathered to offer water at Tol Dawli will offer water and bhajankirtan will be performed." There is a tradition of offering clear water brought from the houses to the Narayans who carry idols and Sahasr water carriers in different villages of Dolakha market and in Dobli in the belief that their wishes will be fulfilled .
In the Jatra, which starts from Varanaseema, there are groups playing dholak, sahnai, and two groups performing bhajankirtan. On the day of Jatra, men and women who have fasted for Swasthani break their fast by pouring water into the kalash carried by the maiden.
