Rashtriya Nachghar was established in 2016 with the main objective of reawakening the new generation by preserving, promoting and passing on folk culture. After changing the name, the Institute of Culture was established in the year 2029. The institute trained many artists, helped in the promotion of music and art. In the public tongue, even now, many people know the name of the National Dance Hall rather than the Cultural Institute. The people who watched the play in the national dance hall used to tell it with pride.
Some artists were employed in the institute. Many artists who are now called old used to work there. The dance hall became the center of faith of the artist. Nowadays, old artists who do not take the name of National Dance House are rarely found. This was the first government-owned structure formed for the development of art and culture. But the series of ascending/descending of that structure is not smooth and pleasant.
By the time it reached the 50s, i.e. in 35 years of its establishment, the theater played an important role in producing artists and providing entertainment at home and abroad, but it was becoming weak and dilapidated day by day. During the rainy season, water seeped into the lower part of the dance hall, and the program was stopped from hurling stones in the political movement.
In June 2050, during the Nepal Bandh, stones were pelted on the building of the dance hall and the program had to be stopped due to broken glass. Even though the employees of the dance hall requested from the Prime Minister to the Minister for the repair of the building, they said that nothing happened. The employees complained that the discussion of building a new building has not started even though they have been hearing for a long time .
The foundation stone was also laid to build the said building. It was estimated that 6 crore rupees would be spent to build the building. But the said amount was not with the institute . Therefore, the condition of the dance hall was deteriorating day by day. Despite not being able to use the dance hall, the artists paid 8,000 at Pragya Bhawan and handed over 1 lakh 77 thousand 255 rupees to the Prime Minister to provide the amount raised by organizing the program to the flood victims.
At that time, the institute, which had 87 employees, decided to take out a video cassette to save the disappearing culture and to go abroad for its exhibition and preservation. On the occasion of the World Tourism Day, a cultural program was also organized at the international airport to show foreigners on the occasion of the institute.
In Jamal, the heart of Kathmandu, plays of various natures were shown in the cultural institute's dance hall spread over 5 ropani 2 annas 1 paisa land. At that time, the place where the drama was shown was the National Dance Hall. At that time, drama was very important. Since there were no movies everywhere like now and the means of entertainment were less, a large number of viewers used to tune in to plays. The
dance hall had a large small seminar hall, small rooms for drama practice. Due to lack of financial resources to run the institute, halls were also provided for rent to non-governmental organizations. There was a mega hall with 700 seats. There was also a small hall with 140 seats.
The government has been staging dramas, novels, stories, one-act plays and poetry based on different levels of curriculum to make the policy and program of making education practical in Nepal a success. The dance hall, which is the center of faith connected with art, artists and culture of the country, was becoming dilapidated due to government neglect.
Kantipur Dainik published a news on 26 October 2050 under the title 'The state of the national dance hall is alarming', raising the issue that the dance hall has been unused for three months and has become a political entanglement. Now, the National Dance Hall has changed its structure and is operating in a new building.
