”The country has become tired of those who deceive the people with false promises. I will take the advice of my friends and make the right decision.”
What you should know
Nepali Communist Party (NCP) leader and Madhesh Provincial Assembly member Rahab Ansari has resigned from the party.
Addressing NCP coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday, he resigned. He stated in his resignation letter that he could not be part of this contradiction since the party had abandoned all three things: courage, honesty, and risk. Why did Ansari leave the party as the election was approaching, what will he do now? A brief interview by Kantipur: He resigned from the Nepali Communist Party. What has happened now?
The party I was affiliated with has become devoid of ideas and principles. A party called NCP was formed but the principles were abolished. The socialist revolution was called, but the practice turned out to be fake. I wanted to carry a branded logo, but the logo turned out to be fake. I did not think it was appropriate to live under a fake brand and a fake logo. That is why I resigned.
Are there other reasons for leaving the party when the election is approaching?
I am a people's representative elected by the people, but despite trying to work for the benefit of the people, I did not get proper support from the party. When I tried to work for the people, the party did not support me. The number of MPs was seen only as a math. It was used in the game of making and toppling power. It was never worked as a science. I came to this decision because I felt that it was impossible to work for the country by sitting in such a party.
In the last election, I had won the Madhesh Provincial Assembly member from the then Maoist party. What will you do now as a provincial MP?
After resigning from the party, there is no question of continuing to be an MP. I am now in Kathmandu, I have to go and resign myself, so I will decide on this matter in a few days. And I will also leave the Provincial Assembly member.
Are you saying that you are joining another party?
Since I have been elected by the people and have reached the Provincial Assembly, which party will I join now? I discuss/consult with voters, intellectuals, and well-wishers in my constituency on how to move forward or what to do in the future. I travel around, seek the opinions of my friends. Then I take the right decision. But, I will say this much that now the country has been affected by those who mislead the people with fake brands, fake logos, and fake promises. The country's flow is in one direction, we cannot walk in the other. Keeping this in mind, I take the right decision.
