Although my house is in Biratnagar-19, Milan Chowk, Morang, I always stay near Shadanand Chowk, Biratnagar-5 Kanchanbari. I have opened a meat shop called Himal Fresh House in Shadanand Chowk. Now I am 30 years old. Housing expenses have become a permanent concern for me as the needs also increase with age. That's why every morning I send my eldest daughter who is studying in 6th standard and my youngest daughter who is studying in 4th standard to school and open the shop. Then I return home only in the evening.

Even though I tried to become a great person by reading a lot, I could not complete it . Because, I could not study above 9th standard . The poverty of the family made my studies difficult. I was born in the rugged hilly district of Khotang. Even though I can't study, I want to educate my two children and make them big people. That's why I'm always busy at work.  

It is thought that if the daughters study a lot, they will be employed and become the support of the old age . I have seen the lack of household expenses since childhood. To avoid that lack, I had to become a domestic worker in my childhood.  After the beginning of my teenage years, I also worked in a beauty parlor for some time . However, the income there did not seem to cover the household expenses. And after suddenly leaving the parlor, I decided to open a meat shop two years ago. When I was working, I had to wait for months to see the money.

When I was employed earlier, I used to earn only 5/7 thousand a month . Now I earn Rs 15,000 per month by selling meat. Husband also drives a car and earns 25/30 thousand per month . My brother also drives a car. My brother's income reaches 20,000 per month. Baini works to collect the monthly savings of the cooperative. Baini's income is 5/6 thousand rupees per month. 

My worries have decreased because the household expenses are run from the earnings of the husband and wife. However, there is another concern that it will not always work like this. 7 members of the family live in a single house built on 12 dhur land. The biggest expense of the house is the education expenses of the daughters . Other expenses including food, clothes and medical treatment are fine . We don't have the ability to buy and wear clothes according to fashion. We buy clothes only once a year . 

Husband and wife earn around Rs 50,000 per month. But, all the earnings go to household expenses . Earnings and expenses are equal. Not enough to save . Food is getting enough. It is as if they brought loot and ate bread.  

Worries about rising market prices add to the pain at times. Due to the situation of being okay with the household expenses earned, sometimes I can't gather the courage to wear what I like and eat with open heart .  In some places, the heart becomes sour when you have to sit down because of the lack of expenses. So far I haven't spent any money.  We eat cooked lentils, rice and vegetables at home. There is no need to go to hotels, restaurants, travel, or hang out.
