Tribhuvan University has directed to remove student organization structures from its departments and campuses. The Directorate of Student Welfare and Sports on Monday asked to remove the structure of party student organizations.
The government's 100-point agenda mentioned the removal of student organization structures within 60 days and the development of a student council/voice of students mechanism within 90 days. 90 days after the formation of the government, the Ministry of Education had requested the implementation of the agenda through the University Grants Commission.
The provision of no representation of independent student unions in the university assembly was also suspended through the university ordinance. Student organizations have been protesting the government's decision.
