The death toll from the latest Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has surpassed one thousand. Jean Kaseya, Director General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), announced at a health conference held in Ghana on Wednesday that since the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus appeared in May, a total of 1,031 deaths have been confirmed so far he reported.
