After the explosion at 1 p.m. on Monday, 25 workers, including some project officials, were trapped inside the collapsed tunnel of the 'NHPC Teesta Stage 6 Hydropower Project' in Samardung.
Namchi Superintendent of Police Sonam Bhutia said that 20 of them have died and rescue efforts are ongoing for the remaining five trapped individuals.
