Twenty-nine countries have signed an agreement to establish a World Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cooperation Organization in Shanghai.
According to the terms of the agreement, the 'World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization' will be an independent intergovernmental international organization. Its headquarters will be in Shanghai.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that representatives of 29 countries, including China, Kazakhstan, Laos, Pakistan, Russia and Indonesia, signed the agreement.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of various countries and international organizations, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
According to the agreement, the newly formed organization will support and uphold the purposes of the UN Charter. Similarly, it will be operated from a people-centered perspective, promoting necessary consultations and joint contributions for the public good.
The organization's mission is to strengthen international cooperation and global governance to ensure that AI is beneficial, safe and fair, and to promote its healthy and orderly development for the benefit of all humanity.
