US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to return to talks immediately. He has threatened to attack Iranian bridges and power plants next week if they do not come to talks. President Trump made this warning in an interview with Fox News as the two countries continued to fire for the fourth consecutive day.

Earlier, the US military had imposed a blockade on Iranian ports on Trump's orders. 'Next week will be very bad for them. If they do not come to the negotiating table, we will destroy all their power plants and bridges.'

President Trump had previously threatened to bomb Iranian civilian infrastructure, bridges and power plants in April.

Responding immediately to Trump's threat, UN human rights chief Volker Turk warned that deliberately attacking civilians and civilian infrastructure would be a war crime.

The 1949 Geneva Conventions also completely prohibit attacks on physical installations deemed essential to the civilian population.

Speaking on Fox News' 'Special Report with Bret Baier' on Tuesday night, Trump added, "I will put energy facilities as the last priority, but ultimately we will attack those energy facilities." He said that US mediators had also briefed the Iranian side on this matter on Tuesday evening.
