The Venezuelan government has stated that the death toll from the double devastating earthquake in Venezuela has reached four thousand.
The government has confirmed that at least 4,118 people died as a result of the earthquake that struck on June 24.
Venezuelan parliamentary speaker Jorge Rodriguez informed via Telegram that 16,740 people were injured in the earthquake and that all districts of the coastal state of La Guaira were affected.
According to him, as thousands more people are missing, search and rescue operations are ongoing.
However, rescue teams have indicated that there is no longer any hope of finding survivors. Recently, Venezuela has been facing seismic risks.
The long-running economic crisis here has also affected government services.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has issued an immediate appeal for nearly 300 million dollars for earthquake relief efforts in Venezuela.
Venezuelan interim president Delcy Rodriguez has called for the return of frozen assets held abroad.
