Acting President Delcy Rodriguez has confirmed that at least 164 people have been killed in Venezuela after two powerful earthquakes struck in quick succession. She said at least 971 people were injured. Rescue workers in the capital Caracas are searching through the rubble of collapsed buildings. Rescue workers have heard people screaming for help in some places. Rodriguez said the state of La Guaira, north of the capital, was the hardest hit. Dozens of buildings have collapsed here. There are no immediate reports of damage.
