The agreement between the two sides states that Iran will not charge fees for any ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz. In an interview given on state television, Ghalibaf claimed that the Strait of Hormuz would never return to its pre-war status, according to the BBC.

He said, ‘Iran has sovereign rights in the Strait of Hormuz.’ For this reason, fees will be charged from those who use services from here.’
