US President Donald Trump has said that the formal signing of the deal to end the conflict between the US and Iran is scheduled for today. His statement came shortly after Iran expressed doubts about the timeline. Trump said on his social media that the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for international trade, would be “open to all” once the deal is reached. Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator for the deal, also said that the deal would be finalized within the next 24 hours and preparations were underway for the electronic signature process.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai had responded to the exact date of the signing, saying that the signing of the memorandum of understanding would not take place tomorrow, but that the exact time would have to be seen.

However, Trump said on Truth Social that the deal would be signed today and that the Strait of Hormuz would be fully open with the signing.

Referring to Iran's enriched uranium stockpile, Trump said that at the appropriate time, once the situation calms down, the US will collect the "nuclear dust" and proceed with the process of destroying it later.

But Trump warned that if the process does not proceed smoothly and quickly, Washington has the power to adopt other measures as a last resort, expressing hope that such a situation will not be recreated.

Earlier on Saturday morning, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that a peace agreement is now much closer than in the past.

In a statement issued by X, Sharif said that Pakistan is preparing for electronic signature as the agreement is likely to be finalized within the next 24 hours.
