According to the official, Iran will open the Strait of Hormuz to all commercial ships as soon as the agreement is signed. Similarly, the United States will lift the blockade on Iranian ports.

During this period, the United States has agreed not to impose any new sanctions on Iran. Immediately after the comprehensive agreement within 60 days, all sanctions imposed by the United States and the United Nations on Iran will be lifted. ‘The United States will lift the sanctions on Iranian oil for a certain period, due to which Iran will be able to sell oil and collect revenue. The United States will also release $25 billion in frozen Iranian assets. The United States will work with regional partners to develop a plan for Iran's reconstruction and development and a detailed agreement on this will be reached within 60 days,' Reuters quoted an Iranian official as saying. 'Iran will agree not to produce or acquire nuclear weapons.' Similarly, Iran's nuclear program and management of its stockpile of highly enriched uranium will be discussed within 60 days and concluded through a final agreement.'

A US official familiar with the talks told CNN that the agreement includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the US blockade on Iranian ports. But he claimed that Iran would not be allowed to charge transit fees. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday that Iran would charge commercial ships a service fee for using the Strait of Hormuz.

The US diplomat told CNN that the agreement includes a commitment that Iran will not acquire nuclear weapons. The US officials claim that Iran's nuclear materials will be destroyed or removed.

Iran's semi-official Tasnim News has claimed that Iran will receive compensation for damages caused during the war. However, US officials and diplomats have said that such provisions are not mentioned in the agreement.

Israel or Hezbollah are not directly involved in these talks. But Tasnim News said that the agreement mentions ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon. However, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned on Friday that his troops would not withdraw from the territory they occupied in Lebanon. On Sunday, Israel fired missiles at the Lebanese capital Beirut.

Both Iran and the US have said that they have agreed to end the war, but have different claims about the date of signing the peace agreement.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the Iran-US peace deal is expected to be signed within 24 hours via social media ‘X’. Trump reposted Shahbaz’s tweet and hinted that the deal would be signed on Sunday. He wrote on Truth Social, ‘We hope this process will work out very quickly and smoothly.’ But if it doesn’t, we have options.’

However, Iranian officials have said that a final decision on the points of the deal is yet to be made. A senior Iranian official told the Fars News Agency that discussions are underway between experts and policymakers on the political, legal and technical merits of the deal.

Iran’s military wing ‘Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) has claimed that Trump’s insistence on a deal on Sunday is unnatural.

Israeli attack on Lebanese capital

At least three people have been killed in an Israeli missile attack on the Lebanese capital Beirut as preparations are underway to sign a peace deal between the US and Iran.

Israeli officials said that two Israeli planes shot down four missiles. Three bodies were pulled from the rubble and at least 15 others were injured, Lebanon's national news agency reported.
