US President Donald Trump had warned Israel not to attack Iran and Lebanon. Despite this, on Tuesday, Israel attacked the Lebanese city of Tyre, at least 8 people were killed.
Israel dropped bombs after warning locals to leave the city. Earlier, Trump had called on both Iran and Israel to stop the attacks through his social media account Truth Social.
He also warned Israel not to attack Lebanon. He also warned Netanyahu that Israel's attack could derail peace talks with Iran.
'I told Netanyahu you have to be careful, otherwise we will be alone very soon,' Trump told the American media outlet Axios about the phone conversation with Netanyahu. Earlier, he had informed through his social media account Truth Social that the peace talks with Iran were progressing very positively and that meaningful results would be achieved within two or three days.
Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Beghar Ghalibaf warned that the ceasefire with the US was in a weak state due to the Israeli attack and could be broken at any time. He said that Iran would continue its attacks on Lebanon until Israel stopped its attacks.
Iran and Israel fired missiles at each other on Sunday and Monday. Iranian state media reported that two Iranian soldiers were killed in the process.
Trump has claimed on social media that Iran will stop its nuclear weapons program after the peace talks and that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened immediately.
After the failure of direct talks in Islamabad, Pakistan on April 11 and 12, Iran and the US have been holding indirect talks under the mediation of a third party. Despite Trump's repeated claims that the talks are on track to succeed, no meaningful results have yet been achieved.
