A buffalo that went viral after being compared to US President Donald Trump is set to be kept at Bangladesh's National Zoo. According to Reuters, the new owner, Zia Uddin Mrida, had planned to slaughter it for Eid after it was sold by its 38-year-old owner.

Pictures of the buffalo, which weighs about 700 kg, have gone viral on social media. Millions of people have viewed the pictures of the buffalo. Many have named it 'Donald Trump'.
A ministry official said the buffalo was saved for security reasons. 'The buffalo was saved based on security concerns.' There is a lot of public interest in it,’ the official said. Zoo officials said the buffalo was kept with the aim of showing it to visitors in a safe environment. Officials expect a large number of people to come to take pictures with the buffalo. Last month, its former owner, Mrida, told Business Standard, ‘My brother named it Donald Trump after seeing its hair and head.’ He added, ‘It is very peaceful. Albino buffaloes are usually peaceful and do not become aggressive unless provoked.’ Mrida said albino buffaloes are rare in South Asia. It was fed maize, soybeans and wheat-barley. As a result, the buffalo is very healthy. Another buffalo weighing 750 kg is also going viral on social media. This buffalo is also from Bangladesh. Social media users have named it 'Benjamin Netanyahu'.
