Is it the same person who is unemployed, lazy, always online and complaining? 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP) has been launched in India targeting people with such 'eligibility'. Some are commenting on it as a new political organization, while others are calling it a satirical political experiment. CJP itself has claimed that it is a 'political platform for youth, by youth' for the youth. In a few days, thousands of youth have joined this campaign. The founder of this party is Abhijeet Deepke, a 30-year-old student studying public relations at Boston University. According to The Hindu, he worked as a volunteer in the social media team of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from 2020 to 2023. He has more than 40,000 followers on Facebook and 420,000 followers on Instagram. CJP has claimed that its party has 1 lakh members. Not only this, Trinamool Congress MPs like Mahua Moitra and Kirti Azad had also jokingly said that they would join the party.

CJP has claimed that it is the 'voice of people disappointed with the current system'. Mahua Moitra, while sharing CJP's post, said that she also wanted to become a member of the 'anti-national party'. Kirti Azad also asked what qualifications are required to join the party. CJP has also replied that 'winning the 1983 World Cup is enough.' When India won the 1983 World Cup, Kirti Azad was also a team member under Kapil Dev's captaincy. In fact, there are various comments being made about the name of the party. Some have also said that it is based on the alleged statement of Indian Chief Justice Surya Kant. Surya Kant had made a similar statement targeting the youth. Surya Kant had said, 'Some youth are like cockroaches.' Those who do not get jobs, attack the system by becoming media, social media or RTI activists.' Later, he also claimed that his statement was distorted. But CJP founder Abhijit Deepke has responded to it in a humorous manner. He said, 'As the founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, I condemn this explanation.' CJP has also released an AI-generated anthem. It says, 'We are the Cockroach Party, we are children of a burning city.' The CJP has also said that it will hold the first Gen-G conference virtually. The CJP has also raised its voice on the paper leaks and irregularities in exams like the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and CBSE, which have been shaking Indian politics in recent times. The CJP's five-point manifesto has also been made public. The CJP demands that no Chief Justice will be given a Rajya Sabha seat after retirement. The 46th Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi, became a Rajya Sabha MP shortly after retirement. He retired as the Chief Justice on 17 November 2019 and became a Rajya Sabha MP on 17 March 2020. Similarly, the CJP has another announcement - if any valid voter is removed from the voter list, action should be taken against the Chief Election Commissioner under the UAPA Act. The CJP manifesto also mentions 50 percent reservation for women in parliament and cabinet and guarantees of press freedom. Similarly, it has announced to introduce a system that will not allow MPs and MLAs who change parties to contest elections for 20 years.

CJP founder Abhijeet has said that their movement will not be like that of the Gen-Z movement in Nepal and Bangladesh. He said that journalists have asked him whether there will be a movement like that in Nepal and Bangladesh. He said, 'I want to make this clear. Do not insult the Gen-Z movement in India by making such a comparison. The youth of this country are very mature, aware and politically conscious. They know their constitutional rights, they also know how to dissent democratically and peacefully.'

Many journalists have been asking me whether this GenZ movement will turn into what happened in Nepal or Bangladesh. Let me make this absolutely clear. Do not insult or underestimate the GenZ of India by making such comparisons. The youth of this country are far more mature,… — Abhijeet Dipke (@abhijeet_dipke)
