US President Donald Trump is holding talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. According to Al Jazeera
, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also present at the meeting at the Great Hall of the People. Interestingly, China had banned him twice before he became foreign minister. Before the high-level talks with his US counterpart in Beijing, President Xi Jinping had said that China and the US should be ‘partners, not rivals’.
In response, President Trump called Xi a ‘great leader’ and said that relations between the two superpowers would be better than before.
Trump visited Beijing in November 2017 during his first term. This is the first high-level visit from the US since then.
