US President Donald Trump arrived in China on Wednesday evening for a high-level visit. When the US president's plane, Air Force One, landed in Beijing, he was given a grand welcome by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and other senior officials. Trump is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People on Thursday during his two-day visit. He is scheduled to return to the US on Friday. The meeting with Xi is expected to discuss technology, the Iran war, trade and other issues.

This is the first visit by a US president to China in nine years. Trump had previously visited Beijing in 2017 during his first term.

Along with Trump, CEOs of Tesla Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Apple CEO Tim Cook and about 16 other companies have visited China. “I am calling on the very capable President Xi to open up China. So that these great people can show their magic and help the People’s Republic of China rise to even greater heights,” Trump wrote on social media shortly before landing in Beijing.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said the two leaders would have in-depth discussions on bilateral relations and world peace and development.
