Iranian military spokesman Mohammad Akramian said the country's armed forces are guarding and monitoring the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the movement of ships through this important sea route will be based on the coordination and approval of Iranian authorities.

He said that the management of Hormuz is a matter within Iran's jurisdiction and that necessary security measures have been taken considering the current situation. He also informed that Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) and the National Army are jointly guarding and managing security in the area.

Meanwhile, Fars News Agency, citing Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Hamid Ghanbari, reported that various countries are requesting Iran through diplomatic channels to ensure the safe movement of their ships.

Iran has tightened security in the area since February 28 due to some special circumstances. The decision is seen as related to regional developments.

The Strait of Hormuz is considered a very important route for global energy supplies and international trade. Therefore, the international community is closely monitoring the activities taking place in this area.
