At least seven people were killed and more than 20 others injured in a bomb attack on a bus in Colombia on Saturday.

According to reports, the bomb was thrown at a bus traveling in the El Tunel area of ​​the Pan-American Highway connecting Cali and Popayan in the municipality of Cajibio, causing serious damage to the roof and windows of the bus. The highway was also damaged.

According to eyewitnesses, armed men hijacked a truck and a bus and blocked the road. The vehicles were painted with slogans related to a rebel group. 

Local Governor Octavio Guzmán strongly condemned the attack, calling it an indiscriminate attack on civilians. 

Security forces have been deployed to the scene and have urged the national government to take concrete steps to ensure the safety of people in the affected areas.
