US President Donald Trump has been embroiled in a controversy after he posted on social media a quote from radio host Michael Savage that he borrowed from a podcast. American host Savage called India, China and other countries “hellholes” on the podcast. Trump first reposted the program called “Savage Nation” on his own social media platform Truth. He then posted a three-page transcript of the program and posted it as is. Savage had made racist remarks opposing the birthright citizenship law in the US. He alleged that people from India and China come to the US to have children and become American citizens at birth. “A baby here becomes a citizen immediately.” Then they bring their entire families from China or India or some other hellhole on earth,” the transcript states. The Indians and Chinese have been accused of being gangsters with laptops.
