US Vice President JD Vance has returned from Islamabad without an agreement. Earlier, talks between Iran and the US had been going on for about 21 hours since Saturday.  During these direct talks, various issues including Iran's nuclear program, control of Hormuz, sanctions on Iran were discussed. However, no agreement could be reached.

'We had discussions with the Iranians on many issues. This is good news. However, we could not reach any agreement. This is sad. I think it is sadder for Iran than for America,' he said at a press conference, 'We could not reach such a situation. Where the Iranians accept our conditions.'

He said that it is necessary for Iran to express a commitment not to develop nuclear weapons in the future. 'We have not seen that yet. We hope that they will express such a commitment,' he said at a press conference held in Islamabad.

'We are returning to America with a very simple proposal here. Let's see whether Iran accepts it or not,'  He added, "But so far we have not been able to get Iran to agree to our terms."

He thanked Pakistan's Prime Minister and Field Marshal Munir. "Despite any shortcomings in the talks,  the Pakistanis have done a wonderful job," he said.
