”All his expressions have crossed the line in the last 48 hours,” Congresswoman Yasmin Ansari wrote on social media X.

US lawmakers have called on members of President Donald Trump's administration to invoke the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to remove Trump from office. The amendment allows the president to transfer power if he is unable to serve.
Members of the House of Representatives and the Senate have called for the law to be invoked against Trump. Congresswoman Yasmin Ansari said the law should be invoked against Trump.
'Trump is waging an illegal, destructive war. He is threatening to commit war crimes on a large scale. He is targeting public infrastructure in Iran. All of his statements in the last 48 hours have crossed the line,' Ansari wrote on social media.
Earlier, Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar had also called for Trump to be removed. 'This is not right. We should invoke the 25th Amendment, impeach him, remove him. This idiot should be removed from office,” she wrote in protest of Trump’s threat to damage Iran’s public infrastructure.
Earlier, New Mexico Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury also called for Trump’s removal.
Democratic Senator Chris Murphy has also called for Trump’s removal. “If I were in Trump’s cabinet, I would have asked the lawmakers to invoke the 25th Amendment. This is a huge mistake. He has killed thousands. He is going to kill thousands more.”
Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy described Trump’s planned actions as “clear war crimes.” He urged Republican leaders to hold the president accountable for such inhumane actions. “Republican leaders need to stop him. The floodgates will not reopen by blowing up bridges and power plants and killing innocent Iranians. This is also a clear war crime,” he said.
Senator Edward Markey of Massachusetts said, “Tweets threatening war crimes will not open the Strait of Hormuz.” He urged Iran to negotiate to end the war and control the Gulf.
Senator Alyssa Slotkin of Michigan said, “Indiscriminately killing civilians in Iran and destroying civilian infrastructure like bridges and power plants is both irresponsible and wrong. Especially when the president says this war is to help the Iranian people.” She said Americans abroad are feeling unsafe under Trump.
Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii urged people to oppose Trump’s plan. “Bombing civilian infrastructure is a war crime, and the time to speak out against it is now,” he wrote on social media.
