Crude oil prices have risen as President Donald Trump threatened to attack Iranian public infrastructure. He had earlier warned Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz by 8 pm (Nepalese time, Wednesday, 5:45 pm).

He had threatened to attack Iran's energy facilities and bridges if the strait is not opened. Oil prices have risen again with this warning.

Global benchmark Brent crude rose 1.4% to $110.60 a barrel. 'Tuesday will be Energy Facility Attack Day and Bridge Day in Iran, all in one place. Nothing like this will happen!!! ...Open the Strait, or you crazy bastards, or you will live in hell - oh my!' Trump tweeted the truth on Sunday morning, using profanity.

A few hours later, he posted a new deadline on social media on Sunday afternoon, writing, “Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time.” In the US, opposition Democratic lawmakers have warned Trump to stop making such threats, saying the attacks on the bridge and power plant are “war crimes.”

Iranian officials have said the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen until Iran receives full compensation for the war. They have also claimed that Hormuz will not return to its pre-war condition.

This is not the first time Trump has threatened Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz. He has repeatedly threatened and extended the deadline before.
