US President Donald Trump has fired Attorney General Pam Bondi. She was a longtime Trump ally and staunch supporter of his administration.

The attorney general in the US is considered the country's top law enforcement official.

Trump praised Bondi in a post on the Truth social media platform and said she would be seen in a new role in the private sector.

Bondi, who was fired, said she would continue to work to hand over her job to Blanche, calling the position the honor of her life.

Similarly, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has asked Army Chief of Staff Randy George to resign.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said on social media that the US Army's Chief of Staff will retire immediately. He was appointed by former President Joe Biden in 2023. The term of the Chief of Staff is four years.

However, the reason why he was asked to resign is not clear.
