Iran has rejected the US's 15-point negotiation proposal. The US had sent the proposal for talks through Pakistan.

International media have reported that the proposal, which has not been made public, includes the removal of Iran's nuclear infrastructure and the lifting of international sanctions in return.

Iran's national broadcaster Press TV quoted a senior political security official as saying that the proposal had been rejected. Press TV did not disclose the person's position or name. However, the official said, 'Iran will decide to end the war after its conditions are met.'

According to Press TV, the official has put forward five conditions for ending the war. These include a complete cessation of 'attacks and assassinations' by the 'enemy side', the establishment of a solid mechanism to ensure that the Islamic Republic is not attacked again, war reparations, an end to the war on all fronts, and international recognition and assurances that Iran can exercise its sovereign rights in the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, Israeli Finance Minister Nir Barkat told the BBC that although the US plan looked good on paper, Iran was unlikely to agree to it.

'There is no change in the Iranian regime,' he said, 'Israel's main goal in the war is to rid Iran of nuclear weapons, missiles and proxy groups.
