Iran has attacked Kuwait's oil fields for the second day in a row. Kuwaiti officials said that Iran's drone attack on the Mina Al Ahmadi oil field on Friday morning caused significant damage.
They said that several units were on fire. Iran had previously carried out a drone attack here on Thursday.
Some units of the plant, which processes about 730,000 barrels of oil per day, were shut down after the attack, the Kuwait Petroleum Company said. There were no casualties in the incident.
Meanwhile, Israel also attacked Tehran on Friday. The Israeli attack disrupted the Iranian New Year (Friday).
Iran had earlier launched attacks on various oil and gas fields in West Asia on Thursday.
In the process, Iran fired missiles at the Ras Laffan industrial area of Qatar, the world's largest gas export center. Qatar Energy Chief Saad al-Kaabi said that Ras Laffan suffered significant damage.
He said it would take three to five years to repair it. He said the current devastation could set the West Asian region back 10 to 20 years.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed that Iran has so far attacked infrastructure in West Asia only a small part of its capabilities. He warned of “zero restraint” if Iran’s energy infrastructure is attacked again.
Earlier on Wednesday, Israel attacked Iran’s South Pars gas field. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Israel carried out the attack alone.
He also said that he would not attack energy infrastructure again at the request of US President Donald Trump. Trump has been saying that the US was not involved in the attack on South Pars.
