A missile has been fired at the US embassy in the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Reuters reported that a missile hit the embassy building and smoke was seen billowing out. However, full details of the damage were not immediately available. The AP reported that the missile landed on a helipad inside the US embassy compound.
AFP reported that the embassy was hit by a drone attack.
The attack came after two Iranian-backed militants were killed in Baghdad.
