Iran has attacked the Emirates terminal in the UAE's busy port of Fujairah. Oil loading operations have been suspended in some areas after the attack, international media outlet Reuters reported.

The UAE's state media office said a damaged drone had crashed and caught fire. The office also said no one was injured in the incident.

Iran's retaliatory attack came hours after the US attacked a military base at Iran's Kharg Island oil export terminal. Iran's paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed that the attack on sites linked to the US was legitimate.

Iran has been carrying out continuous missile and drone attacks on Gulf countries. However, the Gulf countries claim that their sophisticated air defense systems have thwarted these challenges.

Earlier on Saturday, Iran also bombed the US embassy in Baghdad, Iraq.
