The United Nations has condemned Iran's attacks on the Gulf states. The UAE's condemnation at the UN The resolution mentions Iran's illegal missile and drone attacks on the UAE, other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Jordan. It also calls for stopping such actions.
The resolution was passed by the UN. 135 countries supported the resolution.
The UAE's Permanent Representative to the UN, Mohammed Abushahab, has informed the UN Security Council about the attacks on his country. He also condemned the attacks on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Jordan.
According to Abushahab, cities and critical infrastructure in the UAE have been targeted. He also praised the patience and determination of his people in this painful time. “Iran tried to spread fear in our society, but our people united and faced those attacks,” he told the Security Council meeting.
While making it clear that the UAE would not allow its geography or airspace to be used to attack Iran, he said that Iran’s attack was unjust.
He expressed his commitment to take necessary measures to protect its territory, citizens and critical infrastructure by exercising the right of self-defense recognized by international law.
