US President Donald Trump said a major wave of attacks on Iran is yet to come.

In a nine-minute phone interview with CNN, he hinted that the US would launch a larger attack. He claimed that 49 top Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed in the US strike on Saturday. Trump told CNN's Jake Tapper, "I think the attack is going very well. It's very powerful. We have the greatest military in the world and we're using it." He repeated his long-standing claim that the war could last four weeks. Asked who would lead Iran, Trump said, "We don't know who the leadership is? We don't know who they're going to choose. The Iranians lost a lot of leadership in the initial attack. Forty-nine. It was a wonderful attack," he said. He said that he had tried to negotiate with Iran but had failed to reach an agreement. "They would bring up the same old thing with every new proposal. They wouldn't agree to end uranium enrichment."
