US President Donald Trump has claimed that the war with Iran could last up to four weeks. He claims that the US can win in less than this.
"This is a great country. It will take four weeks or less," Trump said on Sunday. He said everything was going according to plan. The joint strike on Saturday killed Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of senior Iranian military commanders. Iran has since launched a series of attacks on the Gulf state, which hosts US military facilities. Trump said the military intervention was necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons or developing missiles that could reach the United States. Meanwhile, the US military said three US soldiers were killed and five were seriously injured in a US strike on Iran. Trump said more casualties could be expected in the coming weeks. Trump said the strikes would continue until all targets were met. He has long advocated preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons and changing the regime there.
